But then we'll be unsatisfied from how the 'free' painting result by drifting too far away from our good expectations🙃🥲
What is your painting surface for your oil paints?
True
Always such a wonderful journey to see your portraits unfold into stunning pieces of art!😮❤❤❤
What a great video and presentation, Dani! Congrats on the sticking with the process and creating an amazing piece. Beautiful carving - well done!
Brava. Great description . Wonderful persistence.
Had to watch and listen to this one twice today. So many important ideas. I had missed this video a few months ago and have been wondering if something had happened with your arm. It’s inspiring to hear you talk about how you handled it. Beautiful. And thank you for sharing so much about the experience and what goes on in your brain. I always wondered how you could carry on conversations and paint like you do. 😊 Congratulations again to you and Dani. And a big scratch behind the ears for chili pepper.
Camilo Carreno! Love his work. Great tips btw, thanks
I think many finnish painters of that era you are talking had both european and russian influences melted on their work. For example Edelfelt and Akseli Gallen-Kallela.
It hits different when it is freeing because of the copious levels of over editing and sensitive bs.
I have no idea what you're saying???
@BorealisNights The video changed. This was a comment for a completely different video. 😆 That's honestly hilarious. Sorry for the confusion lol
Beautiful work.
Whenever I'm making something new, i always buy/salvage enough resources to make at least one "learning" piece, and then the real one. Sometimes i need two, three, etc, lol.
This is amazing... Keep up!
❤❤❤ love your resilence
Nothing to PAINT!? You have the whole world to PAINT!
Really good art fights back but if you win the battle the work has true meaning. I'm an artist and my best work always is one that I struggled with.
That’s awesome
"Painting goes beyond the object that is created" Absolutely love this video, this gets me excited to paint! Thank you for putting your thoughts out there. Hearing from a master artist such as yourself is really helpful. I've always been afraid of messing up my wrist more. I use my hands a lot and need them to be healthy in order to live my life. I've been on my own hand-pain journey over the last 10 years. It's still very mild but it does flare up from time to time. I think it originated from a bike crash that didn't heal right. I started drawing 4-5 years ago and at the time my dominant hand was not able to do it, so I would do it with my non-dominant a lot. Eventually I figured out ways to get my dominant wrist better and healthier, at least with drawing, but painting can cause it to become flared up. Anyway, thank you Nicolas!
I absolutely love your art!!!!!🫢 I accidentally found you yesterday on a short and quickly subscribed!! I’m so excited to binge on your channel, thank you so much for sharing your work ❤
This is super cool. Mike's last name is pronounced meen-yo-la. It's Italian.
amazing lovely exquisite
You mispronounced the name and sound like arse.
Jajaja jajajaja
Really enjoyed watching a lot of these being created. Thanks for all you share Nicolas
You can’t be a great artist of any kind if your life is uneventful.
Genial
Medium and recourses don't define art. It happens in your mind. It's a state of mind.
holy shit my whole world is changed
Surely cursed spirits cant use domain expansion, mahitos silly ass:
If it aint Baroque, fix it! Baroque is just the best style out there. I also love accidentally Baroque photography. Like just recently theres the viral photo of the journalist being attacked by a crowd of Israelis, and you cant tell me thats not literally a Baroque painting. Or same thing with that photo of a stadium with tons of people reaching to catch a baseball bat, but it hits a guy in the jaw. I think honey boo boo is in it too lol.
I feel that the original artist's application of paint embeds in every brushstroke the artist's spirit and energy and can never be reproduced. Because the original painting carries an essence of the artist's soul, I find it heartbreaking when an original painting is "restored". Perhaps "destroyed" would be the better word because the original artist's vitality has been muffled by the restoration and becomes only a pentimento under the makeover. I would much rather see the natural process of the original painting fading away than the destruction of that work via restoration.
So true - art is powerful
Yes, artists who prevail are often ruthless.
Your channel is a constant reminder to keep discovering myself through my art, instead of expecting something from it. Thank you you guys are awesome
OHhh nunca vi esto! que lindos, los quiero mucho.
I found it! The painting. Hey man, I think I might accidentally stolen your painting and I'm sorry. I have a drawing on my sketchbook that resembles heavily this one. At the time, I knew that I'd seen the drawing somewhere but I didn’t remember. Sorry bro 😭
Evil genius.
Love to see you this again on canvas. Recently purchased these paint but have yet to use them. I’m primarily an acrylic painter
Tal vez el problema resida en creer en el instinto como un paradigma. nota: los paradigmas no existen.
Great work but too much talking 😅
Nothing wrong with painting from photo ref - the problem for is that I’m rarely excited by it. Painting from life on the other hand is an experience of vitality and sometimes profound and nearly always intriguing. Whatever the inspiration, be it photo or life study, the result can be good or bad art depending on the artist’s skill.
There are two statements I can make which are both valid. I don’t draw at all. I always draw. The reason both statements are true is that if you are a painter the most essential aspects of drawing are unavoidable: the relationship of shapes requires recognising the boundaries between those shapes eg lines. You don’t have to have a formal practice of ‘drawing’ lines with a pencil or whatever to practice the discipline of drawing.
thanks, I just broke a finger on my painting hand, this is just what i needed to hear
You just explained why I get so sleepy after I draw or paint. I was like does it relax me or am I bored? I am not.. but now it all makes sense. I am so focused and present.. Thank you!
One of your best videos!
